Captain FAP Guillermo del Castillo Paredes Airport, commonly known as Piura Airport, serves the city of Piura in northwestern Peru. It’s the sixth busiest airport in the country, handling both domestic and international flights.

It is located in the Castilla district, just 5 kilometers east of Piura city center, the airport occupies a strategic position near major highways and agricultural areas.

3. History

It was built in 1943, Piura Airport started out with a dirt runway and basic facilities. Over the years, it has undergone several expansions and renovations, including a new passenger terminal opened in 2014.

The modern terminal offers comfortable waiting areas, duty-free shops, restaurants, and car rental services. Passengers can also access ATMs, currency exchange, and VIP lounges.

5. Airlines and Destinations

Major domestic carriers like LATAM Perú, Viva Air Perú, and Sky Airline operate regular flights to Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, and Trujillo. International connections include Panama City with Copa Airlines.

Taxis and buses connect the airport to Piura city center. For onward travel, rental cars are available, and long-distance buses link Piura to other Peruvian cities.
