The Hagia Sofia church is a dazzling 6th century church that is well preserved and serves a valuable Christian architecture in this European region. It was said to be a structure erected under the rule of Emperor Justinian I of the Byzantine Empire. The name literally means Holy Wisdom. You might also want to visit the Rila Monastery.
